Bethlehem Chabad

In 1988, the Chabad House was founded with an over-arching vision. Although Jews may embrace many levels of observance in their personal lives, there should be a place for all Jews - no labels, no affiliations - to develop a sense of community, to enhance the experience of being Jewish, to learn and to have fun. With tolerance, sincerity and deeply rooted values, Chabad can help you find that Jewish Center in your heart.

Jewish faith rests on the firm bedrock of logic and intellect. Our tradition encourages us to inquire, to delve and to understand. With proper study and comprehension, we can transform the proverbial leap of faith into a stronger step of faith; we can turn blind faith into a seeing faith.

We believe that Jews are Jews, regardless of affiliation or personal level of observance. There is no charge for membership or pastoral services. Voluntary donations are appreciated but not required. All are welcome.

The Bethlehem Chabad House  is your Jewish Center. There’s palpable warmth at our synagogue services that melts away any embarrassment for those unfamiliar with, or new to, communal prayer. Everyone feels at home. Come feel for yourself the family atmosphere that makes our services such a delightful experience. Participate in any of the wide array of programs and activities that we host throughout the year and discover the joys of being a Jew. By celebrating with others you will discover a renewed sense of appreciation and interest in your wonderful heritage.
Hope to see you soon!

Rabbi Zalman Simon is no stranger to the Bethlehem area. Zalman was raised in Delmar and active in Chabad outreach activities from his early youth.
After studying in Yeshivot in the USA and South America, Zalman spent a year in Israel. There he tought and mentored college students, many of whom seek his counsel and advice until today. He then returned to the USA where he received his Rabbinical ordination from the Central Chabad Rabbinical Court in Brooklyn, New York.
For Chanie, growing up in Milwaukee, WI, an open home to all was a natural way of life.  After graduating from High School in Morristown, NJ, she received a teacher’s diploma in education from the Beit Chana Teachers Seminary in Tzfat. Chanie then worked for two years as a mentor to high school students in Florida. In 2008, she coordinated programming for the Friendship Circle chapter in Stamford, Connecticut. The Simons are joined by their adorable children Mendel and Rochel Leah, who already have become primary partners in their parent’s work.
